A Taste Of Christmas Dublin Style Krissy V

A Taste Of Christmas

December 5th 2014

Blurb
My name is Nollaig, it’s the Irish word for Christmas. I hate my name. My parents loved Christmas and that’s why they gave me such a festive name, together with the fact that I was born on Christmas Day.
However, my parents are no longer with us after dying in a car accident on Christmas Eve, five years ago.
Now I hate Christmas all together.
I always hated the fact that everyone got presents on my birthday. Now my parents are gone and ever since then I just don’t feel like celebrating Christmas. Everything about this holiday gives me sad memories.
I need a miracle to happen over the Christmas holiday to make me change my mind about Christmas.
Who knew that a quick shopping trip would provide me with the miracle that I so desperately needed?

EXCERPT
13th December – Day 1 of my 12 nights of Christmas
It’s my day off work and I am walking up and down Grafton Street trying to buy some presents for my nieces and nephews. I really don’t know what to get them, this happens every year. I enjoy walking down Grafton Street because there are always street performers and groups singing. You always find big crowds around the good groups and this is exactly what I find when I walk past the Disney Store and see a large crowd gathering.
I can hear the group singing and decide to stop and listen to them. I stand at the back of the crowd, I don’t need to see them to realise they are really good. I enjoy them, they are very talented. I try to push my way through the people to get to the front, I want to put some money in their bucket. Eventually I fight my way through and in front of the crowd is an open space where their bucket sits in front of the drums.
While everyone is listening to them singing I creep into the middle of the open space and reach over very slowly to put some money into the bucket. The singer is reaching a key point in the song and the unspeakable happens …
I overreach and fall over, face down and my hand is in the bucket as if I am trying to take money out of it.
The crowd erupts with laughter and I can see the drummer is really annoyed with me. He stands up and is about to start shouting when the singer holds up his hand to stop him and he walks over to help me up. I am faceplanted on the floor with my legs sprawled out and my head lifted watching him. He bends down and reaches out to help lift me up. “Are you ok Miss?” he asks as he helps me to sit up. I nod my head unable to look him in the eye.
“I’m sorry you were in the middle of singing your song, I’m so embarrassed.” I feel some tears falling out of my eyes and I reach up to wipe them away, but he beats me to it.
“Come on it’s not that bad, I wish girls were always throwing themselves at me.” He chuckles.

About Krissy V
I am a mother to two young children, who in turn keep me young. I live in Dublin, Ireland but, I’m originally from South Devon in the UK. I work full time in a pharmacy and write in all my spare time: in my lunch hour, when watching TV at night and anywhere. I have always been interested in reading from a young age and then 2 years ago I was given a kindle as a present and it was the best thing that happened to me. I was able to read lots of books ever week and then I started to write reviews for all the books I read. I took this one step further and started my own facebook page – Sparkling Pink Bookshelf. I intended to upload all of my reviews for the books I read. This was purely for pleasure and then I answered a post on Facebook for someone to read for reviews and thought I had died and gone to heaven. I was reading about 7/8 books a week, the kindle made this achievable. I would read at any opportunity I could, even staying up til the small hours to finish a book. I loved it. Then one day I was asked to beta read a book – I loved this side of it, it was so exciting. I have worked with a number of indie authors and have remained loyal to a few select authors and I beta read all their After a year or more of doing this, I thought maybe I could write some of the stories that were in my head and I just decided to write and see what happened. I wrote about 70% of a story and then saw a post for the NaNoWriMo competition – to write 50,000 words in 30 days, I decided that this was a challenge I wanted to take and the Til Death Us Do Part series was born.

I am always thinking of situations that can be turned into a story and have started a few stories, which in turn will be completed and released to my readers. I love to hear what my readers have to say about my work and please find my links below.

Thank you for your support and I hope you enjoy this series of books as much as I enjoyed writing them.

Notes to Krissy V

I discovered Krissy V completely by accident when she was doing a blog takeover and it was completely by accident I found her and I'm so glad I did because Krissy's books are amazing! I absolutely loved the emotional rollercoaster ride I was taken on during For Better Or For Worse, In Sickness and In Health and To Love and Cherish. I have not read another series that deals with such a serious issue in such a sensitive yet real way. I felt every emotion with Natasha and after being put through the emotional ringer i knew i had found an amazing author.
On a side note as i read through Krissy's books and spoke to her about them i got to know her as a person. And i have to say Krissy is so unassuming and humble that she has attracted a loyal team who love her books and her. I recommend her whenever i can to people i know so im really glad shes getting a feature so more people can discover her amazing books!

I had a chance to get to know Krissy while I was attending one of her takeovers in a book club on fb. I liked her straight away. She's always so nice and she has a wicked sense of humor. I started reading her books staright away and I couldn't put them down. I thanked her for the books and after I finish book 2 in the series I one clicked book 3 and dived in.
I'm so glad I did because Krissy's books are amazing. They make me feel a lot, sometimes you want to cry but you always smile at the end of it all.

I was very lucky because I had a chance to meet her when I went to the Dublin author signing last july. It was so great to meet her. She is an amazing woman, so full of life and it felt like I've known her my whole life. I was so at ease with her and I'm so thankful and so happy to be part of her Street team. I can't wait for everyone to read her books. She deserves all the best and I hope this is the start of a very long career.

A taste of Christmas Dublin Style : this book is so sweet. It gave me such hope and it made me feel such joy. I wish there could be a sequel just to spend more time with Nolly and Tully.

I want to wish the ‘Lovely Krissy V’ a fantastic Release Day for her New Christmas Story 'A TASTE OF CHRISTMAS: Dublin Style' and wish her every success as she is one Lady who truly deserves it.

if you haven’t had the pleasure of meeting Krissy V yet then do try... I know she is doing THREE Signing next year Peterborough in March, Dublin July and also Birmingham July. She is what I could only describe as a Flame, and we are all mere moths. A truly beautiful person inside and out, if you need help in any way, she is one of the first who’s there, a true heart of gold, and I haven’t even started talking about her writing yet bahahaha...

And talking of which... Ohhh my God, does this lady write from the heart, a true writer through and through. Her stories are real and not pie in the sky tales. I know from talking to her, she writes using her own life experiences... You really need to do yourself a favour and start treating yourself to her collection; I promise you will be hooked... You can thank me later ... bahahahaha

Best of Luck Krissy, Hugs and Kisses - Samantha Fontien. Xxx

I am a fan of Krissy's it just so happens I'm a blogger as well and that is how I happened upon
her fantastic series, 'Til Death Do Us Part'. The strength it took to write this emotionally driven book is pure talent. Not always can an author have the reader share the same emotion as the character but Krissy does a brilliant job. I am so grateful Krissy stopped by my personal blog so I could read this brilliant series.

Quotes from my reviews:

"Krissy this had to have been more difficult than I could express to write because to read it was
torture."

"Felix is such a dick I want to punch him in the throat 5 times with steal knuckles."

"Krissy this is truly an amazing read! Makes me violent myself but amazing."

"this is an amazing realistic rollercoaster that none of us want to experience if we haven't had
this experience. Again Krissy bravo!!!"

I remember the first day I met Krissy…it was at her 1000 Likes Extravaganza and I hadn’t heard of her before but when I saw the premise of her series it really caught my attention, so I spent the day playing games.
One of the games was where Natasha started out giving you a line to start building a story on and you had to add on from the person before you. Well, the other guests were going on and building the story but no one would cross that naughty line and kept everything pretty PG. Krissy or Natasha would put out a prompt that was more risqué and everyone just took it back to vanilla, so I figured the hell with it, I could tell they wanted to have some fun so I just went for it and came off with some outlandishly dirty sentence and the next thing I see is my messenger box pop-up and it was Krissy thanking me for livening up the story.
We ended up having this wonderful conversation and I felt like I’d known her for a really long time. We talked about living in Ireland and how much I would love to visit and by the end of the conversation I had met Natasha and was asked to join the Street Team. I’m so blessed to have met Krissy and she has made me feel so welcomed in the group and I wish her so much luck and success. Reading her books, though, you know she has this in the bag and will continue to succeed for a long time to come.
Thank you for being such a wonderful lady and for bringing me into your amazing world of books. Love you and I wish you nothing but God’s blessings, which you so greatly deserve
